media buzz.

In 2005, word about Axon Labs began to spread within entrepreneurship circles; the “sleep guys” from Brown had a great new idea, were receiving grants, and winning business plan competitions. The Boston Globe even featured the company on the front of their technology section. We were humbled by the coverage and learned a valuable amount about the overwhelming interest in new sleep and wake solutions.

Almost immediately, the phone was off the hook: BBC news, NPR radio, Entrepreneur Magazine and dozens of others asked for interviews and prototypes to try. We gave the interviews, but kept the early prototypes in the lab. By month’s end, the company was featured in over 400 articles and 52 countries.

Sleep is everywhere you look in the media. Researchers have linked lack of sleep to major health problems. Sleep deprivation and the grogginess caused by sleep inertia have been directly tied to the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the Challenger space shuttle explosion, and the Three Mile Island nuclear disasters.

As the launch of Project SleepSmart™ draws near, we look forward to exceeding the expectations of our valued customers and followers.
